Dolly Parton's Imagination Library

Imagine a world where every child develops a love for reading before they even start school. Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library and United Way in Montgomery County are doing just that.

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library is dedicated to inspiring a love for reading by gifting books free of charge to children each month until they turn 5 years old. Children who are enrolled at birth will amass their own personal library of 60 books!

Inspired by her father’s inability to read and write, Dolly Parton started her Imagination Library in 1995 for the children within her home county. Today, her program spans four countries and mails more than 1 million free books each month to children around the world. And now, families in Montgomery County will also have the opportunity to receive these amazing books!

HOW IT WORKS

Parents/guardians enroll their children by completing the registration form. After registering, the child’s address will be verified to ensure they live within Montgomery County. Once verified, the child will begin receiving a book each month.

This program was funded in part by the Women’s Legacy Fund of the Montgomery County Community Foundation. There is NO COST for families.
