Volunteer Income Tax Assistance
United Way’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program completed operations in mid-April of this year. Our volunteers are enjoying time away from tax prep, but our staff are still available to help as their schedules permit. Let us know what kind of assistance you’re looking for, and we’ll follow up and let you know if/when we can help.

United Way in Montgomery County’s VITA Program offers free income tax assistance to eligible community members with the help of individuals who are certified with the IRS to prepare taxes as volunteers. Appointments are required and can be scheduled using the self-scheduling tool below or by calling 765-362-5484. Appointments will take place at the United Way in Montgomery County office at 221 E. Eligibility Considerations: Individuals making $84,000 or less are likely eligible for VITA services. You are out of scope for our program if you own or manage a rental property, have farm income, exchange virtual currency (e.g. bitcoin), are selling a home under contract, or operated at a loss as a self-employed contractor/business owner.
